miriOS for GL.iNet Routers

OpenWrt + Miri + Speedify = Resilient Internet

The miriOS foundation provides a powerful platform for fast, fault-tolerant connectivity on our X510 hardware and select third-party routers. Combining a customized OpenWrt-based router operating system with built-in Speedify bonding and failover technology, miriOS brings our award-winning resilient internet capabilities to GL.iNet Beryl AX, Puli AX and Spitz AX travel and portable routers.

The combination of miriOS with GL.iNet routers is ideal for on-the-go internet users who need reliable connectivity but don’t require the robust hardware capabilities or large number of contributing links of the purpose-built Miri X510.

Features & Benefits

Our Miri X510 hardware is the ultimate bonding solution for mission-critical professional applications, but there are also many consumers and businesses who want reliable internet but have less extensive hardware needs. With miriOS, the same resilient internet operating system that’s coming to the X510 will also be available for GL.iNet routers at a cost-effective entry point.

Advanced Bonding Technology: Combine multiple connections to create one super-fast, ultra-reliable internet link. Perfect for live streaming, broadcast contribution, remote work, and online meetings.

Fault-Tolerant Resilience: Ensures seamless connectivity with ultra-fast, automatic failover if one internet service provider fails.

Powered by Speedify: Leveraging Speedify’s intelligent traffic management and security features, miriOS offers encrypted, seamless connection switching that virtually eliminates interruptions.

Speedify Pair & Share: Expand your bandwidth even further by sharing data connections from mobile devices on the same network via the Speedify app.

Flexible Cellular Data Options: With the 5G-equipped GL.iNet Puli AX and Spitz AX models, you can use your own SIM cards or choose one of Miri’s convenient multi-carrier NetConnect+ data plans.

Versatile: miriOS is completely data-agnostic and supports anything from documents and financial transactions to video and audio in any current or future codec or protocol.

Flexible: Choose between Bonding or Load Balancing modes to optimize performance for your needs.

  • Bonding mode combines multiple internet connections into one resilient, high-performance virtual tunnel through a Speedify Speed Server
  • Load Balancing mode steers each new data flow through the best available individual link without going through a bonding server, with sub-second failover if a link fails

Maximum Throughput: Speedify’s Performance-Enhancing Proxy (PEP) increases your router’s data throughput by overcoming limitations inherent in the standard TCP network protocol.

Secure: bonded traffic is secured using AES-256 encryption to keep your data safe.

Extensible: miriOS installations can be expanded by incorporating modules from the vast OpenWRT ecosystem, either from Miri Technologies or other developers.

Three Months of Speedify License Included: Each first-time miriOS installation on a new hardware device includes a 90 day pass with Speedify on the 1TB / month plan, after which a Speedify subscription must be purchased.

Watch this two-minute overview video for an introduction to miriOS:

Simplifying OpenWrt+Speedify

miriOS gives users the expandability and flexibility of OpenWrt without the usual complexity. miriOS has Speedify technology built in, so OpenWrt users who want to use Speedify no longer need to sideload it onto vanilla OpenWrt. miriOS also integrates support for cellular modems and tethered phones, eliminating the time-consuming process of finding and adding compatible OpenWrt modules.

miriOS also simplifies day-to-day operation. While the depth of OpenWrt can be intimidating for some users, miriOS offers an elegant, streamlined dashboard view where the vast majority of users can spend almost all of their time. All important information is available at a glance, and key parameters can be easily set from the dashboard to make simple changes.

Compatible Router Models

miriOS will be available for the following third-party routers:

And of course, miriOS will also be available for our award-winning X510 dual-cellular bonding router, which complements miriOS’s software capabilities with a robust hardware platform purpose-built for mission-critical internet connectivity.
