Case Study: Miri X510 Delivers ‘Must-Have’ Internet Connectivity for High-Profile Sports Broadcasts

I’ve got a new Swiss Army knife and it’s the Miri X510 dual-cellular bonding router. Over the past month I’ve come to rely on the Miri X510 in ways I did not expect. I’m a broadcast engineer with more than 30 years in the field, and you know the truth here: a broadcast lives or dies by its connectivity. You can dial in every camera and every mix, but none of it matters if packets drop. Audio breaks. Video stutters. The event suffers. Without a solid plan for its connection and fail safes, the rest means nothing.
I found the Miri X510 by accident. For years, I followed the advice of colleagues who pushed a different brand that costs more and is harder to use. When I saw the “Try Before You Buy” offer for the Miri X510, I had nothing to lose.
In the past three months this router has carried Mad Dog Sports Radio for me during the North American professional baseball championships in Toronto. It powered MLB Network Radio for pre- and post-game coverage. It saved a local podcast that streamed from busy streets and from the back of a bar that had previously given us trouble every visit. Most recently, it sat on the red carpet with me at the Hockey Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.
I’m using the X510 to bond my own data plans from two carriers, combining them with on-site internet when available. During the baseball playoffs, I ran two discrete connections plus public Wi-Fi when it was available. If I had more connections, I would have used them too. What continues to impress me about the Miri X510, beyond its performance, is how simple it is to set up and use. The GUI is clear. It uses plain language. It looks good. It avoids confusion.
Bonding is handled by Speedify, a third-party technology and service built into the router. It manages traffic across every link and keeps it stable. If one connection drops, the others pick up the load. To my clients and the audience, none of this is visible. They hear clean audio and see clean video. When no one notices I’m there, I know I’ve done the job right.
My hat goes off to Miri and Speedify. The Miri X510 dual-cellular bonding router is now a “must-have” in every kit I build.
